Meet the Founder

Queerly Supported exists because no one should have to choose between getting support and being themselves.

Hi, I'm Jamie Banks, founder of Queerly Supported.

For years, I've worked alongside people navigating disability, mental health, and systems that often ask far too much of the people they're meant to support.

I've also spent my own life navigating systems that weren't designed with people like me in mind.

Being queer has shaped how I see the world.

It has taught me to notice what isn't being said. To recognise when someone is masking, people-pleasing, or quietly disengaging because they don't feel safe enough to speak up.

Those aren't just life experiences.

They're the skills I bring into every conversation.

Why I Started Queerly Supported

One conversation has stayed with me.

A trans participant told me they stopped using supports altogether.

Not because the service wasn't helping.

Because their provider kept using their old name.

They corrected them.

Nothing changed.

Eventually, they stopped attending.

Not because they didn't need support.

Because they didn't feel respected.

Sadly, this isn't unusual.

Many LGBTQIA+ people don't make formal complaints when services feel unsafe.

They simply disappear.

I started Queerly Supported because I believe we can do better.

Building the Service I Wish Existed

Queerly Supported isn't about being different for the sake of it.

It's about creating the kind of support I know changes lives.

Support where your identity isn't questioned.

Support where you don't have to edit yourself.

Support where being seen isn't the exception, it's the expectation.

If you've ever felt like you had to explain yourself just to access
support, I hope Queerly Supported feels different.

Because that's exactly why we built it.

Ready to experience support where you can simply be yourself?

Ready to get support that actually fits you?
